More mods being made.įabric is more flexible to code with, open source and lightweight for player performance and coding benefits. More competition, more coding opportunities. Why wouldn't they make a software environment they are comfortable with in return. Rift/Fabric exist because 1.12.2 to 1.13 modding was changed and annoyed a lot of modders. Many 1.7.10 modders gave up porting to 1.8 staying on 1.7.10, gave up modding entirely or worked around the changes. Anyone getting to use a software development kit for something is a great thing I think to prepare before public release.įorge forked from Risugami's modloader around Beta/1.0 or so and changed many times over the years. Meddle is a niche snapshot modloader during 1.9 to 1.11 even shorter than Fabric or Liteloader's lifetime and even more niche than Liteloader.įabric works on snapshots and releases, modders can prepare their mods for releases instead of waiting for Forge to update to releases. Liteloader existed from 1.5.2 to 1.12.2 (as a niche modloader with UI and tweak mods, no dimension, mobs, food, tech, whatever people usually look at for mods, meaning there has always been 2 modloaders at all times just Risugami's and Fabric are the popular alternatives to Forge besides that Risugami's came first before Forge as Forge was forked from it). Popular previous versions can be found here: This is SEPARATE from the Fabric loader! You need both for most mods! Keep in mind the project requires the Fabric mod loader! More information and full installation instructions can be found on the Fabric website and support is available through the Fabric discord server.
